I just returned from about three days (I lose track of time here) of continuous patrols and raids, so this post will be brief. However, I thought it important to share with the handful of readers I have, and maybe a few others what our enemy is really made of. I keep reading reports and seeing news broadcasts where the anti-war movement is describing the terrorists/insurgents as freedom fighters and patriots. They liken them to our own ancestors during the Revolution, fighting for their own country against an “oppressive occupying force” determined to shove their ideology down the throats of Iraq. Well, there is a big difference between the two. Let me describe a couple of the guys we rounded up lately.
The first was a target we had been looking for. He was pretty high on the most wanted list. We rounded him up in some raids with a group of other people. He was caught wearing women’s clothes and trying to skirt out. He was acting suspicious for a woman, and I bet the big mustache didn’t help either. Anyway, why would he do this? Because he knows that coalition forces attempt to respect the Muslim culture and not search women directly if possible. We usually bring women with us to do the searches, if necessary, to avoid hurting Muslim women’s dignity. As a last resort, if necessary, we will get the husband or another Muslim woman on the premises to do the search under supervision. So he figured he would just be able to skirt out unsuspected by acting as a woman and playing to our sensitivities. Lucky for us, someone had a sharp eye.
The second man is even worse in my opinion. The IA raided his house and found several weapons, including a sniper rifle. They were initially unable to locate the man as they searched the house, but eventually found him. He was hiding under a blanket in the corner, using children as a cover and shield. The children were evacuated and the man arrested.
These are the kinds of “freedom fighters” the anti-war people are supporting. Cowards who hide behind children and dress as women to avoid capture.
Sorry if this post seems a bit rambling, but I am exhausted. I just had to get it down before I passed out.

Wow! When I checked my email after returning from our latest excursion, I initially thought I had been comment spammed. Turns out I had just been Blackfive’d! It was an honor to be picked up by some of the Blogosphere’s biggest and some of my favorite daily reads - Blackfive and The Mudville Gazette.
I just want to take a moment to thank everyone for their words of encouragement and support. It means a lot to know that people back home still support the soldiers over here. Thank you again for your support and for such wonderful organizations as Soldier’s Angels.
Lastly, I will answer this “Put yourself in their position, and ask yourself what you’d do to protect your country. Would you fight fairly, knowing you would lose and your entire effort would be pointless, or would do whatever it takes to defend your country?” I would do the same as my forefathers did. We were destined to lose the Revolution. The Brits had bigger and better weapons, better training, and centuries of experience. I would stand up and say “Hell No! I may lose in the long run, but I am making a stand now!” True patriots (in any country) are not afraid to fight and die for their cause, or even someone else’s if the cause is just. They stand up and face their enemy head on and don’t dress as women or hide behind children. The IA and IP, for all their problems, are the true patriots here. They are willing to stand against their foes, show their faces, and fight for a better future for their country and family.

A handful of readers? Ummm, guess again! Your post didn’t seem to ramble at all. Very short and to the point. Glad that you all were able to see beyond the disguise and get the SOB off the streets! As for the yellow bellied coward hiding behind the kids, I would like to get ahold of him myself! But THANKS for taking care of those two. Get some well deserved rest. I hope that you all know how grateful we are here in the States for everything that you all are doing.

It wont be the first time that Islamists contradicted themselves. Take Ahmadinejad for example, he claims not to be a holocaust denier while denying the holocaust.
Islamists and Leftists were made for each other (and dont forget PaleoConservative NeoNazis as well).
When I watch TV I shake my head and wonder about the future of this country of ours. Then I follow a link to your post and know that we are in good hands. Thank you for all you do and the extra time you spend to write. When I think of what it means to be a true American I am thinking of you.

Think about it for a moment: they are facing a war force that has superior organization and weaponry. So, in defending their own country, they develop strategies that use your own strategies against you. You may think its “unhonorable”, but they would lose really quickly in the kind of combat you want.

I never understood those who insist that insurgents and terrorists are freedom fighters and patriots. They kill people for the sake of killing, and it’s just wrong.

It’s been a looooong time since I was even on a training op, and nobody’s ever shot anything harder than a sim directly at me, so I can’t begin to appreciate what it takes to write so well after one of your “typical” days. All of you (you, B5, Mike Yon and all the rest)are doing another vital service when you take this time and use your talent to refute the BS the media dishes out

Dressed as a (moustached) woman to defy a search - and then we see this in the news -> U.S. snipers accused of ‘baiting’ Iraqis. I’m still supporting the troops and the good they do trying to rebuild another people’s society. The MSM however always seem to cover the bad things the troops do and never the devious (childish) actions by the terrorists (more often than not from the country they do their atrocious deeds in).
