Deployment Dicotomy

How do you know a deployment is getting close? Words like “Family time,” half days,” etc start getting pushed about.

The reality though is that all these great buzz words mean less actual time home because you have to go on NTC rotations, field exercises, marathon planning sessions, ranges, etc.

It generally goes non-stop for six months or so till the very end when you finally get to say “hi” to your family just before you leave.

Such is military life.
