Still Breathing

Still alive, although pretty sure any readership moved on. Doing the “regular life” thing.  Took some leave and am enjoying it with the family.  If you have been following the Twitter stream, you know we went traveling a little.  We have a little more to do.  Hopefully, I’ll get the urge to write it up and not just “micro-blog” it.  This is a really awesome state when you get down to it.  Now if my wife could just see some real moose or bears in the wild!

Well, I am off again.  Keep in touch, K?

Something from your latest expedition.  I really need to make a new Gallery.

The Dalton Highway, aka the “Haul Road,” made famous in Ice Road Truckers.  Its 414 miles of gravel road complete with scree, potholes, washboards, frost heaves, and long drops.

Coming down on the Yukon River from the Dalton Highway.

The Arctic Circle Sign.  Took 5 hours to cover the 176 miles from Fairbanks (115 on the gravelly Dalton).
