Playing with Cerberus

So, I have re-entered Hades, having passed the gates for a short reprieve. I am back in Iraq and enjoying the lovely red-tinged, sand engulfed, hot weather.  Its still only a balmy 42C though.

Not a lot has gone on since I got back, but I haven’t been back all that long either.  I do have a new CHU and a new FOB.  My body is busy rejecting all the DFAC food after having gotten used to real food again, and I am having to spend more time than I like in Port-A-Johns that have been heated by the Iraqi sun all day.  Other than that, however, its pretty much business as usual.

I am considering taking this blog “official.”  Yes, that means letting the bosses look it over and editorialize if necessary.  However, the Army seems to have taken a more enlightened approach to blogging.  I don’t know if its more of an “if you can’t beat’em, join’em” approach or not, but recently they have been encouraging soldiers to blog, twitter, etc.  Heck the Army even has an official blog, twitter, and facebook amongst other things.  Several units have official sites as well, including mine.  The biggest concern is OPSEC, of course, which is why they want commander’s to have some oversight.  That’s my biggest gripe.  I am capable of self-censorship, and I don’t like big brother in my business.  Plus this blog is not all “milblog.” A good portion is personal in nature.

Anyway, I might take it official just so I can discuss different things and take others more in depth.  I don’t think there is anything here that controversial, but who knows.

So that’s the latest from my corner of the sandbox.

    Hey Doc,

Glad that you made it back safe and sound. Just be sure that you stay that way!

You mean to say that you weren’t official?  Whoa…
I’m following several of those big Army types on twitter. They don’t post too much that isn’t already out there officially, though.  I’d like to hear bout the stuff that isn’t official.  You know, the good dirt.  smile

oh, I searched for your tweets, but couldn’t find any.

Hope the family is doing well.  I bet the ‘little one’ is growing by leaps and bounds.

    Y’all take care!
