Personal
Well, I have been home for a little more than a month now. I am glad to say that Iraq seems like a lifetime ago. It feels like I have been home forever, even my wife thought it had been more than a month when I mentioned it to her. (Dunno if that’s a good thing or not..
) Obviously, my writing has slowed way down. Some of it is simply due to a lack of things to write about, but a lot of it is that I am still processing the past year and getting used to home life. This kind of has my brain numb and unfocused, so I am having issues getting my thoughts down on any media.

I was sitting here thinking to myself “I should add a gallery of shots from Iraq. It might also be a better system for inline photos than a simple thumbnail.” So I created a public gallery for the handful of people that might be interested. Its sort of what I would call a beta right now, but ithe template and number of photos should get better over the next little bit.
Anyway, if you want, just click on the gallery and give me your opinons.
***Note***
Since Microsoft is gonna force everyone to update to IE7, I decided not to worry about too much about backwards compatibility. So if you have IE6x or something that old for a browser you might get a few issues with asthetics.

Shaking hands with a soldier to show your support for the troops? Maybe this guy knows the real score. Anyway, I got this in an email and thought it was pretty funny. Personally, I don’t know who I will vote for yet as I don’t see any candidates really worth voting for – Democrat, Republican, or otherwise.

Ok, so I had a minor scare tonight when I thought I had trashed my computer completely. See, the other day I upgraded to openSUSE 10.3 and recreated all my file systems in the hope that I wouldn’t have to always rebuild my /home directory after every upgrade. Unfortunately, as it turns out, 4GB of user space is not enough for my use since I use a VM to load WindowsXP on top of my Linux Desktop. Its a really handy thing to have available, but it requires around 10GB minimum if you want to do anything useful with your VM.
