New Site
Ok, if you are seeing this then you are seeing the newly revised and relaunched “Far From Perfect.” You will need to update your links to reflect the new url www.ffpblog.com as the old URL is only a pointer now.
Except for a handful of articles (51 of 1735), the database has been wiped clean, dead categories removed, and everything started from scratch. I decided the clean start was the best way for me to accomplish the re-launch. The forums are now gone as well. They cost money, and were barely ever used except by a handful of people. In its place I will be putting together a Q & A blog or wiki soon.
Well let me know what you think about the new design and everything. Streamlined, simple, and attractive were the goals.

Everything looks very nice and eye appealing. I grabbed your feed, in case it doesn’t redirect, so I don’t lose you. Again. Glad you’re home for a while, by the way.
Looks good. Nice and clean.
What happened to the forums…?
nvm lol
hey i dunno what web host you use, but when i had a website, it came with “cPanel” and i could install forums (php) for free. If you use FTP instead of what the hosting company gives you, you can install pretty much any PHP script, like jornals and etc. Anyways, the site looks good. The icons look pretty neat.
I am glad you are so ethusiastic about the forums I had. I didn’t put up forums (yet) because they were taking more maintenance than the usage was worth. I had the forums up for 4 years and had less than 20 posts, most of them recently.
Now I haven’t ruled out forums at all, but given how they were used, I am considering other methods – ie a wiki, a separate blog, etc. Any suggestions are welcome.
Honestly, right now forums are looking like the best option for what they were being mostly used for (FAQ style Q&A). If I do go back with forums, I will use the EE forum module rather than phpBB. This is not because phpBB is bad (i really like it), but because the EE forums are really good and the intgrate 100% with the system already in place. This means members don’t have to duplicate registrations, etc.
